This week, Nintendo redefines the bargain.

T

hink of it as Nintendo's attempt at outdoing The Orange Box — at $50, Metroid Prime Trilogy is a downright steal. This anthology repackages all three titles from Retro Studios outstanding 3-D interpretation of the classic Nintendo franchise, adding widescreen support and Wiimote control to the first two titles in the series. It looks like I've got the next few weekends mapped out for me.

Batman: Arkham Asylum is the grittiest and most mature Dark Knight video game to come along in years. If early reviews and play-throughs are any indication, this third person action romp was definitely worth the wait. It's available for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Is it a fighter? Is it a brawler? Is it an RPG? Whatever it is, Dissidia: Final Fantasy looks to give Square Enix fans the characters they crave while attempting to undo the debacles that were the vast majority of their "experimental" Final Fantasy releases. Dissidia's hybrid gameplay seems a perfect match for the PSP.
