Retail Roundup: March 18, 2009

It's a big week for portables.

R

ockstar takes to the small screens this week with Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. Designed from the ground up for Nintendo's DS, this latest in the reviled series will let gamers offend while on the go.

The PSP hasn't gotten any better at hosting shooters, but developers just keep throwing 'em on. Resistance: Retribution features the same Chimera-slaying action as is found in its PS3 siblings, but with less flashy graphics, clunkier controls and a more potable price tag.

A pair of RPGs arrives on the DS this week — Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume is for traditionalists whilst Suikoden Tierkreis continues the turn-based strategy that series is famous for.

Rounding out the week is The Path, a gothic retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. Sisters take to the road in search of grandma's house. Of course, it's the detours which make the game.
