Retail Roundup: February 3, 2009

So THIS is a princess simulator.

P

outing points? Selfishness meters? I know Atlus has been known to try out some bizarre ideas, but this princess sim/RPG takes the cake. My World My Way puts players in the shoes of Elise, a royal who wishes for nothing more in life than a "handsome boyfriend." When a young adventurer catches her eye, she's forced to leave behind her world of privilege as she tries to win him over. A novel idea? Perhaps. A good video game? I'll let someone else be the judge of that. It's available now for the DS.

Puzzle fans may want to blow the dust off of their Wiis this week — Lonpos plays with your perception of space as you're tasked with placing a given number of puzzle pieces into a three dimensional play area. Also hitting the Wii is Snowboard Riot, Hudson Entertainment's stab at character-driven downhill racing. While it may not give SSX a run for its money, this WiiWare title might offer a considerable amount of racing fun for its $10 asking price.

Rounding out this week's releases is Burnout Paradise. I know — this Criterion title hit the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 months ago. Well, it looks like publisher Electronic Arts has finally declared the PC version done. Offering the same open world racing as its console counterparts, Windows-only gamers may want give this one a look see.
