A little something for everyone.

S

quare Enix continues its trend of repackaging games from past decades rather than developing new properties — Final Fantasy IV releases this week for the Nintendo DS touting totally revamped visuals and new content. Is a fresh coat of paint enough to make modern RPG fans reexamine a game from seventeen years ago? Only time will tell.

In another DS release, Atlus tries to convince gamers that the coolest ninjas sport pink hair and copious amounts of cleavage (they've got my attention). Izuna 2: The Unemployed Ninja Returns places gamers in the shoes of the title's eponymous heroine as she explores dungeons, slays enemies and generally runs amok.

In the event that Cooking Mama didn't do enough for the entrepreneur that lurks deep inside of you, you may want to take a look at Order Up!. This Wii release goes beyond the exercise of cooking and allows you to manage your very own restaurant.

In my day, I had to have my mom drive me to Chuck E. Cheese's if I wanted to experience Capcom's 1942. This week, Xbox Live and PSN bring us a high-def retooling of that classic scrolling shooter via 1942: Joint Strike. A focus on cooperative play and some stunning visuals might make this the game that shooter fans have been waiting for.
