Big rewards, with unfortunately commensurate risks.

My problem is that I'm often attracted to niche and products and new technologies. For whatever reason, I was obsessed last November with multi-GPU setups and hopped aboard the SLI bandwagon. The problem? Asus stopped providing updates for my motherboard's chipset, and it wasn't able to properly communicate with Nvidia's latest graphics drivers.
Of course now that I'm researching things, I'm finding that the motherboards I like tend to be for intel's i7 chipsets rather than the older (and more established) Core 2 models. Why must I make things so bloody difficult? ![]()

Computers in general can be such a pain sometimes. You can be the most skilled person with computers, and there will always come a day when they do something that drives you crazy.

![]() I've tried installing the closest drivers on Nvidia's site (those for the non-SLI version of the board), but they aren't recognized as compatible. Asus, on the other hand, hasn't updated their bios or driver entries for this board in quite some time. I may contact Nvidia for a workaround. I've already contacted my PC builder, who's graciously agreed to have the system shipped back to California, but I would rather not be separated from the system for a long time ![]()

. Good luck with getting a solution to this, its always annoying to find that there is very little or no support/updates. |
