Great interview... Sucks that even they know their new patch works ridiculously, and there's no hope of a fix. Straight out RUINED my favorite game. You should of asked him if they ever plan on designing checking animations that aren't outright penalties... Who came up with cross checking and elbowing as 90% of the body contact in this game? Ugh.

I agree that those "random number generator" penalties can be quite frustrating. I think EA recognizes where they've gone wrong (thanks in large part to the community feedback). NHL 10 should be something to look forward to.

I loved the patch at first, especially the removal of cheese goals and the addition of interference penalties. However, too many weak penalties (particularly AI gaffs) make the game frustrating and longer. Also, why can't players stick-handle and skate simultaneously?

My first question would of been very similar to Michael Scott's first question to Tobey on his exit interview... "How could you?"
Also, the toe drag goal works like a charm again, so there's also that, which doesn't seem to be recognized. The lack of being able to crush a dude going across the middle with the puck in fear of a penalty certainly helps.
