Well, moe and I have decided to try and get rid of my nikon d40 SLR camera.....I am going to be upgrading to a more professional model soon and decided that I just really dont need 2 cameras. The camera is in mint condition with absolutely 0 physical blemishes. The d40 is, in my opinion, the best entry level digital slr on the market. Take a look at what Ken Rockwell, professional photographer and camera hardware afficionado, has to say about this incredible camera.....http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/d40.htm
I figured I would post in G&P to see if any of you were currently in the market for a camera....would save ya some $ in the process!
My asking price is $400 dollars. Includes......
-nikon d40 camera body (mint condition)
-18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor lens
-Rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL9 w/wall charger.
-USB Cable
-1g sd memory card.
-Camera Strap
Let me know if anyone is interested :)

Seductive...yeah I know what you mean bro. Im always saying those very words hahaha.
I'd be wililng to go down to $375, but thats bout it. I mean, 375 dollars to get into dslr photography is an absolute steal.
Mike, what are you looking at as far as upgrades? Nikon...Canon...anything else?

I think 400 hundred is a very good steal from what you're offering. I think I might be able to get it on my next pay which is next week.

Mike, what are you looking at as far as upgrades? Nikon...Canon...anything else?Oh, most likely a Nikon D40 or its kin. You've more than sold me on the model. There's at least one home improvement investment with a higher priority, however — hence my end-of-year target.

My girlfriends parents have been looking for an SLR camera and I'm trying to really press them on the issue, BadFish. I wouldn't mind personally for myself the camera but $400 is steep for me! However, I think her parents may be down on the deal. I'll let you know.

Sounds very good gentlemen...Like I said, I will let go of it for $375, and the shipping method I recommend is Fed EX......I have NEVER had a problem with them. Shipping would come out to about $20-25 I'd imagine. So lets round it off to a clean $400 total. Ill take some pictures of the camera with our other D40 so you guys can have a look at the actual item. Just let me know when you get a firm yes to buy it :)
Mike: Thats a great choice for an introductory dslr....You will absolutely fall in love with it. And the kit lens (18-55mm AF-S) is a work horse. You can shoot macro, portrait, wideangle landscape......I think the only thing that I couldn't do with it was zoom out extremely far, but nikon sells a 55-200mm long lens for around 200. I
