Kotaku put an article up a few days ago with has a list of the new features coming to the 360 for the Spring update. Microsoft has denied this list, but if it's true, there's going to be some great additions to the 360 this time around.

Some of the details...
Some are simply interesting as curiosities, such as an option to purchase Xbox Live memberships for charities and the addition of a Media section for audio delivered through feeds, such as podcasts. Others sound more feature robust, such as Windows Live Mail integration and an expanded "Inside Xbox" with news, weather, entertainment, help and community features.

Perhaps the most interesting additions are "Calibration options for motion sensor devices" for the Dashboard and "Support for titles to store installation data on Storage Device for faster loading" for Games. If true, the former would lend further credibility to frequent rumors that Microsoft is planning to introduce a motion controller for the Xbox 360. The ability to store installation data on a hard drive—as is done with some PlayStation 3 games—would certainly be a welcome option, if that's how the wording should be interpreted. Continue on for the full list of rumored updates.

Make sure you take a look at the list. There's some other very interesting update choices (4 person private chat being one of them, motion sensing, and so on). I'm hoping this list isn't that far off the mark. There's some great features here that really should be put in place.

Holy crapples! That is one heck of a list! Group chat? Caching of game data? I can only hope these two will make it in to an official release!

The list looks great, but I want to see a list from a different source. It shouldn't be too long until we can figure out what will be happening.

I like the rumoured ability to remove games from your gamercard with 0 GP and 0 achievements. That would be a welcomed update.

I definitly hope that the data cache, 4 person chat and user deletion of 0GP games actually are included in the spring update.

Indeed.

Though the use of group chat could have other benifits as well. I would really like this idea for playing games on the Wii. It would save users the hassle of trying to find an arcade/360 title to sit in the lobby of while playing. Though Nintendo could always just figure out a way to use voice communication with their games.

This is another one I hope is true. I've got a few arcade trial games that I'd like to remove.

Here's some more news about the Spring Update that I got from Major Nelson's site (http://majornelson.com/archive/2008/05/22/spring-update-update.aspx)

Exclusive Interview with general manager of Xbox Live Marc Whitten (http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=10620&Itemid=2)

Let me know what you think of this...

Both were blocked except for the first introduction page to the Q&A. I have to say, their Metacritic policy seems spot on. I agree with it. However, I think it comes as no surprise there is no spring update since the Fall update came so late...
