EDIT: I downloaded a bunch of new custom gametypes and map variants for us to try out. Should be fun!

Well, my 360 and MJOLNIR helmet are safely packed away, along with my DLP and various other things, ready to make the 8-hour trek back to an abominable wasteland that forebids online gaming. Thank God the intRAnet is allowed--dorm-wide LAN parties FTW--but yeah, it was great getting in some games with you guys and i look forward to a great reunion a month or so from now.

In the meantime i'll just have to haunt this place like i died in it and have unfinished business. Perhaps even write some articles (supposing that's permitted?). This also means the screenshots must be plentiful. Did you hear that? MUST!

In some cases I think the mic issues may have been packet loss and not an actual problem with the mic itself.

All of my microsoft mics broke from normal use, some in very little time. I've had a couple of plantronics mics and they seem to work very well, so that's what I've been sticking with.

Last night, my party was outclassed in a surprising number of matches, and while the reason was usually plain superiority on the part of the other team, that puts into question the effectiveness of matchmaking. And, too, at least one player appeared as if he were pulling something like the old one-month-subscription trick from Halo 2.

Those were some of the most uneven games I've ever played. I almost wanted to cry. It was fun and all getting our butts cooked, but the highlight had to the other team pointing out our "skills" (a.k.a. "You guys really suck").

I can only stomach Halo with a group of friends. That being said, I would love to either multi or co-op and the timing is certainly doable for me. Advanced warning is needed, though, or I might have already fallen asleep.
