Reminds me of the old "Squad leader" strategy game by SPI from way back in the 80's.
Hmm...I have a weakness for a decent strategy game, but I do not currently have a DS.

That wouldn't have been based on the Avalon Hill board game of the same title, would it? I always wanted to give it a try when I was growing up...
Jai: Advance Wars alone makes the DS a worthwhile investment. Panzer Tactics is just the icing on the cake:)

The unfortunate part about this game is that it's incredibly difficult. Don't get me wrong a game that is difficult is good, but not to the extent where it's difficult because of the large amount of crap they make you do. Plus I swear all the units under your command will always be slightly weaker the the computer which is frustrating. For example, my tiger tanks would engage a unit of T-47 on open plains, no commanders attached and the T-47 would most likely cause more damage. If the roles where reversed with my unit being the T-47, I'd still probably will lose the battle.

Oh, I don't know about that, Pancakes. Playing Avalon Hill's Blitzkrieg, I would play Russian just for the T-47s.

I may have to try Panzer Tactics DS sometime. It sounds like it could be fun. I've heard you talk about Advance Wars before, and from what I've read, I should probably pick it up.

T-47s are awesome, but the point being that even if they manage to let you use a Abrams main battle tank in that game, it would be toned down a lot so it can be challenging. I guess I expected much more realism.
By the way, Tigers and Panthers are way cooler.
