here was a time when this jam fest rocked the music/rhythm genre by its lonesome, but more recently, the series seems to be playing catch up. Guitar Hero 5 brings us more of the tightly balanced tracks we've grown to love over the years. Now if only the folks at Activision could get their online store in order. It's available now for PS3, PS2, Wii and Xbox.

Combine Halo, Tribes and a dash of Unreal and this is what you get. Section 8 puts players in the shoes of a planet hopping space marine — choose your landing sight, survive the drop and blow the opposition to kingdom come. This Southpeak release showed promise when it was last seen at E3. Check it out this week on Xbox 360 and PC.

Champions Online, like any new MMO, has the cards stacked against it. You see, it wasn't made by Blizzard and it isn't World of Warcraft. This superhero role-playing game pits good against evil in that never-ending battle for the title of "best dressed." It's out for PC now, but Xbox 360 players will have to wait.
