Retail Roundup: March 25, 2009

Not quite 'crystal' clear.

Y

es, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time releases this week for both the Wii and the DS, and if you're a bit confused, don't worry: you're not alone. Apparently, multiplayer can function across platforms, meaning that DS and Wii players will be able to share in the dungeon crawling together. Whether this results in an ugly Wii version or a sluggish DS version remains to be seen.

I thought that looked a lot like Vin Diesel. Wheelman releases this week for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, apparently to coincide with an upcoming film. Players take on driving missions in the streets of Barcelona, most likely breaking plenty of traffic laws along the way.

While Pokemon Platinum is said to "push the limits" of what we're used to from the series (Nintendo's words, not mine), I can't imagine anything too groundbreaking. After all — if it was prone to change, it wouldn't be Pokemon, right?

Since when did "curving bullet paths" become the next hot thing? Both Hollywood and game developers are all about breaking the laws of physics, and Wanted: Weapons of Fate is the latest example. I'm no expert, but I'd presume most assassins would prefer it if their bullets traveled in a straight line. Don't they have enough other variables to worry about?
